English Memes - The Power of Memes

English Memes - The Power of MemesMany people are not aware of the English Meme, a phrase coined by Ph.D student Michael Gordon. What is an English Meme? An English Meme is a short phrase that has been associated with a variety of situations. Because these phrases are so brief, they tend to be one-liners, or even phrases that are too short to be completed in full, that people will want to share with their friends or just make their own.One such English Meme is the big rubber chicken. The English Meme was created by some British kids. It consists of a guy sitting on a truck with two legs and two arms holding a small chicken. When he jumps off the truck, he throws the chicken through the air like a grenade, but then has the chance to take the chicken back inside and eat it. The name 'Rubber Chicken' is an English Meme that gained popularity in Britain during the 1980s.The 'Big Pump' is another English Meme. In this case, a man lifts a car up on his shoulders so it sits on a driveway, w here he drives over it and then slams the car into the ground. The English Meme refers to the scenario of a very long car being slowly driven over by someone who knows how to drive a stick shift.Another English Meme comes from an incident at one of the Downing Street dinner parties. A guy pulled a gun on an important person in the government because he was displeased with the party's choice of food. The gun failed to work, so the guy taunted the person in government with a Chicken English Muffin in his pocket. This was interpreted as a gun. A few days later, the story went around the world.Another English Meme is 'A Tale of Two Towers.' The story goes that a large turkey, which has been roaming free, was approached by two men on a pier. The two men made the turkey their target by putting its head between their knees and licking its beak. The turkey fell to the ground and the men then decapitated it. Because of this, many people think that turkey meat is a good source of protein. The 'Blondie' is another English Meme. An English Meme is a short phrase that usually describes a situation or a person. The phrase 'Blondie' is usually used to describe the British army, or the blonde and blue army. Sometimes, the phrase is used by students in a school. Although there are other meanings for the phrase, the school that uses it usually interprets it as 'Blondie is a really nice blonde.'English Memes is commonly used in a social media context. With the explosion of Facebook and Twitter, English Memes can be used to describe a situation without using the words 'big,' 'orange,' 'skunk,' or 'giant squid.' Sometimes, the word 'Meme' is used by social media users who post about events that have already happened. This is often referred to as a 'Post-Meme,' or as a post-event meme.English Memes is like funny sayings, where people can get quick and witty insights from a situation without the fear of being misunderstood. This type of content is very popular with students and those looking for a quick laugh. English Memes, in one way or another, is both familiar and new to English learners.
